SOMEBODY
July 1998 – 8ft³ space –
13 photo-etchings onto Handmade Nepalese Paper –
Awarded Best Overall Achievement at Degree Assessment –
These photo-etchings use the human body as source. They explores the boundary that is our body, the boundary between self and other. They explore the unglamorous parts of the body as pure form which is playfully manipulated to create ambiguous shapes and patterns.
These prints are presented hanging in their own space and trapped between clear Acrylic sheets with the intention of conveying a sense of individual isolation. However when viewed from a distance these separate parts appear as a single unit, part of the whole.
